The rise of Mylord Carthago in the WBFSH world ranking of best showjumping stallions is not yet over. After entering the top ten in 2019 from 25th place, he made the jump from 10th to 4th in 2020 and has not left the Top 5 Sire ranking since! This is, of course, thanks to the outstanding performances in international sport by his offspring, with examples such as Vertigo du Desert (Luciana Diniz), Alibi de la Roque (Julien Epaillard), Timon d’Aure (Alexis Deroubaix), and Bingo du Parc (Harrie Smolders). Mylord Carthago represents a beautiful mix of the best jumping genes from Germany and France. In sport, the stallion, approved by SF and Holstein, achieved top results with Penelope Leprevost, with victories and high placements in many 5* Grand Prix events, as well as team silver with France at the World Championships in Kentucky and the European Championships in Madrid.
The pedigree of Mylord Carthago is something special. Father Carthago (Jos Lansink) is a two-time Olympic stallion who is one of the best sires of his generation. Mother Fragance de Chalus, a daughter of the French great Jalisco B, herself competed successfully internationally and is among the best breeding mares in history. She produced more than fifteen international offspring, six of which are classified at 1.60m. Grandmother Nifrane is also a half-sister of Morgat, who won team gold and individual bronze at the World Championships in 1990.
