Willem III van den Hoogeweg combines an exceptional pedigree with generations of proven sport performance.
His sire, Tiger van ’t Ruytershof, is the now seven-year-old stallion who, under Harrie Smolders, is developing into one of the most promising talents of his generation. His pedigree is equally impressive. Tiger is a son of Chacfly PS, a successful son of the legendary Chacco-Blue, and out of the exceptional mare Pearl van ’t Ruytershof.
Pearl is a full sister to Pegase van ’t Ruytershof, an influential stallion who has already produced more than forty approved sons. Their pedigree traces back to the famous foundation mare Carthina Z, the dam of multiple 1.60m performers including Emerald (Harrie Smolders), Diamanthina van ’t Ruytershof, Ilusionata van ’t Meulenhof (Niels Bruynseels), Nixon (Jos Verlooy), and Pepita van ’t Meulenhof (Daniel Deusser).
Willem’s damsire, Action Breaker, enjoyed a long and successful career at the highest level with Sergio Alvarez Moya. Among his many achievements were two major 5* victories in Barcelona, a second place in the 5* Grand Prix of Cannes, and a third place in the Grand Prix of Aachen.
His dam, Korrie van den Hoogeweg, competed at 1.35m level as a seven-year-old before entering the breeding programme. Her first son, Odilon van den Hoogeweg, is already jumping at 1.40m level as a seven-year-old with Dimme D’Haese (BEL).
The third dam, Belle van den Hoogeweg (by Hold Up Premier), competed successfully at 1.50m level with Jeroen Dubbeldam. Under riders Zuping Huang (CHN) and Gen Ba (CHN), she achieved multiple placings in Grand Prix competitions in Beijing, Guangzhou and Ju Yong Guan.
The fourth dam, Ply-Mouth, is another exceptional producer. She produced no fewer than two 1.55m Grand Prix horses, as well as a 1.50m horse, a 1.45m horse and a 1.40m show jumper.
